We met with my parents at Frankfurt Airport to fly directly to Alaska and more exactly to Fairbanks (via Anchorage), where Kelly picked us up at the airport.

As interestingely enough we were not that tired, we decided (in order to get some advance for Friday) to do one training run assembling the canoe.

After that trainging run, a great dinner (thanks to Kelly) and some beers we were more than ready for bed. We finally go to bed around 11 pm. We know from last year that Friday will be a long day.
Breakfast around 7.30 am and directly to Fred Meyers to buy our food (and drinks) for three weeks. We are a lot surer what and how much to take than last year and are done quite fast. My dad and I also buy our fishing licence and we are done at around noon.
Now it’s packing time: putting all the stuff in zip-lock bags and packing the canoes. Surprisingly we are quite fast – all done at 5 pm.
We have a look at the maps and discuss them with Peter. After an early dinner we go to bed early – it will be a long day tomorrow.
