As we planned more than enough time and it’s quite windy again we decide to stay one more day at our camp and to hike a little bit up the hillside to get a view of the Alatna River valley.
Before we even leave, a guy and his son from Colorado stop at our camp and we have a little chat. It’s his forth time on the Alatna River, but apparentely the river never has been that low and slow going…They have not a lot of time – they have 11 days for the same trip we planned for 21.
The hike is quite steep and we have to pay attention. Of course, we are shouting “Hey Bear” from time to time. You do not want to meet a bear here.
I found a walking staff – looks a little bit like a magic one.
After having crossed this field full of boulders, the view starts to get nice. A little bit more than an one hour hike to get up here.
And we get to take some souvenir pictures 🙂
Weather is still perfect and we have time to play cards again on our camp beach.
The day ends quite nice as well….
