Day 17 – Only already dead salmon

It’s a beautiful morning once the morning fog – it’s colder now – has dispersed.

We stop on a gravel bank at a confluence to try fishing for grayling – no luck though.

The salmons are mostly dead and not really appetizing…

After some more paddling (we are going quite fast with the additional water) we stop at another confluence ; also because we see a little game trail up a hill that we want to explore. Unfortunatley the forest is quite thick further up the hill and we turn around quite soon.

Nice place for some images (even a little mirror effect sometimes as the river does really not make a lot of waves).

Weather is getting worse – we stop for camp as the clouds in the back of the picture will bring us some rain soon enough – no fire tonight but cooking on the gas stove under the tarp. We have chorizo and mashed potatoes – good choice.

Suddenly we hear a loud noice. We are wondering if it’s a plane but we would probably already have seen it. Not long after three boats pass by – locals who are going upriver to hunt and fish.

We go to bed shortly after – the rain has not stopped.
